Host/Reporter (Bilingual) Nouvelles Nationales d’APTN – Montreal REPOST

  • Represent APTN by being the face our viewers recognize, attend special events, interview guests’ celebrities and politicians;
  • Join a team at one of Canada’s top employers that provides coverage of the issues facing Indigenous communities locally, nationally and worldwide;
  • Deliver on-camera presentation of News & Current Affairs programs; and may assist in producing as needed;
  • Develop, write, and deliver ‘live hits’ at relevant times during the day;
  • Research and develop story ideas, prepare outlines and pitch stories;
  • Works closely with reporters on pronunciation and other story details, and works with the producer(s) to ensure show continuity;
  • Craft high quality stories and demonstrate great time management skills;
  • Demonstrate your strong communication skills while interacting with the public and remote colleagues.

Your accomplishments and experience include:

  • A degree/diploma in journalism or related field with proven experience related to journalism;
  • Broadcast journalism experience;
  • Must be able to articulate National issues relevant to Indigenous communities;
  • Exceptional verbal communication skills in English and French coupled with the ability to share complex ideas/concepts with a diverse audience;
  • Must work well under pressure, with a spirit for collaboration and team building;
  • Experience working with an Indigenous organization as well as knowledge of Indigenous cultural perspectives.
