Digital Media Editor – 1 Year Term
Must be located in: Vancouver, Winnipeg, Ottawa, or Montreal

Highlights of this opportunity:
- Prepares and maintains the day-to-day development of online social media and web content;
- Writes, packages and publishes relevant social media content for social and web platforms;
- Produces and reformats graphics, animations and videos for online use;
- Assists with online special events and campaigns and contributes, pitches, and curate online content;
- Initiates, coordinates and facilitates livestreams;
- Collects media content from a variety of sources for publishing, and archives information;
- Collects and analyzes user reaction. Escalates to the appropriate person, if needed;
- Monitors online platforms for viral content and trends; identifies opportunities;
- Stays up to date on current events, especially as they relate to Indigenous communities;
- Designs and builds featured story pages on WordPress, maintains pages;
- Uploads and maintains APTN News podcasts;
- Travel and shift work may be required;
- Assists other team members; and carries out other duties as needed and assigned.
Your accomplishments and experience include:
- Diploma or certificate in a relevant field and 2 years related experience managing social media accounts; or equivalent combination of education, experience, and traditional knowledge;
- Advanced design knowledge & editorial experience, including knowledge of CP style;
- Knowledge of office software, industry technology, and Adobe Creative Cloud;
- Experience working with an Indigenous organization as well as knowledge of Indigenous cultural perspectives is an asset.
