Deborah Ann Charles is the chief executive officer of Missinipi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC), an Indigenous communications radio network with over 35 years of service. As the longest-serving employee of MBC, Deborah has dedicated more than 35 years to the organization, including over 24 years as CEO. In this role, she works closely with the board of directors to oversee the corporation’s day-to-day operations, including administration, funding, community radio development, research and human resources. 

Deborah has been a longstanding member of APTN’s board of directors and serves as the ex-officio chair of APTN’s governance committee. She was also a board member of Access Communications from 2012 to 2017 and previously served a three-year term as chair of Northlands College. 

A proud member of the Lac La Ronge Indian Band, the largest First Nation in Western Canada, Deborah has been a steadfast advocate for Indigenous media and communications throughout her career.
