Winnipeg, MB – APTN (Aboriginal Peoples Television Network) invites Aboriginal digital content creators to submit their fresh story idea for the production of Canadian linear web series. The network issued a new Request for Proposals (RFP) today to support the development of an original series for multi-platform broadcast.
Developed by APTN to meet an increasing demand for programming content that is consumed online, this RFP has been crafted for Aboriginal Canadian creators working professionally in video and new media.
The network encourages creators to focus on their natural talent as a storyteller, which could result in a financial boost of $30,000 toward the production of a Drama, Documentary or Children’s and Youth linear web series.
Eligibility Requirements
- Be a First Nations, Inuit or Métis person and a Canadian resident.
- Be at least 18 years of age at the time of submission.
- Be open to English or Aboriginal-language Drama, Documentary or Children’s and Youth series created for online consumption and adapted for multi-platform screening and delivery.
Submission Specifics
- RFP opens: November 21, 2016
- Deadline for applications: January 23, 2017 by 5:00 p.m. PT/CT/ET
- Decisions to Producers: March 2017
- APTN Maximum Licence Fee: $30,000

“Ma webserie sur APTN”, the French-language version of this initiative, in partnership with TV5 and modeled on their Fonds TV5 program contributes to the development of French-Canadian web series.
