Luisa Frate brings over a decade of experience in finance, technology and operations to APTN’s board of directors. She is a chartered professional accountant and holds a bachelor of commerce from McGill University with a specialization in administration and marketing. As the former director general of finance, operations and technology at the National Film Board of Canada, Luisa led pivotal digital transformations and financial restructuring efforts within the agency.
Luisa’s tenure as the treasurer on the board of directors for the YWCA Montreal (Y des femmes de Montréal) demonstrates her commitment to community service and her capability in governance roles. Her recognition as a finalist for the Prix Femmes d’affaires du Québec in 2021 is a testament to her professional excellence and leadership qualities.
Luisa is fluent in multiple languages, including French, English, Italian and Albanian, underscoring her ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders and communities. This linguistic versatility aligns well with APTN’s commitment to celebrating and promoting cultural diversity. During her service to APTN’s board, Luisa hopes to leverage her experience in financial and technological strategies to support the network’s mission of amplifying Indigenous stories and voices.
