Michif Country is a documentary series that explores the unique landscape, culture and language of the Métis community in St. Laurent, Man. This amazing place—one of the oldest and largest Métis communities in North America—serves as the backdrop for Indigenous celebrities to embark on a series of traditional hunting, trapping and fishing expeditions with the locals. The end result is an inspiring and comedic exchange of culture and knowledge between nations. Through the curiosity and perspectives of the show’s diverse guests, Michif Country enters a unique world where subsistence is a way of life rather than something that’s only talked about in history books.
