Episode 1: Tip Off At Crankworx
Gracey Dove heads out on her own to try and make a living as a freelance photographer in the action sport world. She meets up with Brett Tippie and he opens the door for Gracey to meet legendary mountain bike photographer Margus Riga, to shoot Whistler Crankworx Festival.
Episode 2: The Spit
Wind and water are two elements that can throw a challenge to even the most seasoned photographers, and Gracey faces new experiences by shooting the Canadian Open Freestyle Kiteboarding event at the Squamish Spit, and features champion kiteboarder Sam Medysky.
Episode 3: Awake at Bala Bay
Gracey faces another test by shooting the Canadian Wakeboard Nationals in Bala Bay, Ontario and features rising star wakeboarder Christian Primrose.
Episode 4: Onion Lake Rodeo Drive
Dust and true grit is the theme for Gracey’s next shoot at the Northern Alberta Native Cowboy Association (NANCA) Finals in Onion Lake Saskatchewan. Gracey creates a photo essay on teenage phenom bull rider Ty Thompson and pitches Urban Native Magazine for a sale.
Episode 5: Jumpship
For the past two years Gracey has worked on numerous mountain bike shoots, and now she is on a mission to try and nail the Photo Of The Day on Pinbike, and capture the vibe from the Jumpship Festival at Bear Mountain in Victoria, BC. Grace showcases Peter Savage, a local young up and coming freeride mountain biker.
Episode 6: Bridge Day
If you want to shoot legal base jumping, then you have to travel to West Virginia and the annual base jump event called Bridge Day. Gracey faces one of her toughest challenges ever by attempting to capture a shot of Bryan Campau launching himself by catapult off the New River Gorge Bridge and free falling 800 ft to the landing zone below.
Episode 7: Lacing Up
Gracey calls up her friend and mentor, Mark Gallup, to help her out on a photo shoot for Impact Magazine covering the CanAm Speedskating event at Calgary’s Olympic Oval. Canadian National Team speed skater, Isabelle Wiedemann is Gracey’s featured athlete.
Episode 8: The Big White Out
White out conditions and winter rally car racing is Gracey’s photo assignment for the Canadian Association of Rally Sport (CARS). The rally team of Josh Shewchuk and Leanne Junnila are the photo subjects for Gracey’s photo shoot.
Episode 9: SnowCross
Gracey travels to Searchmont Resort in Ontario to cover the Canadian Snowcross Racing national series event. Pro snowcross racer and photographer Shelby Mahon works with Gracey on a photo shoot with pro snowcross competitor, Dylan Hall, from Team Rockstar Enery Polaris. Gracey pitches On Snow Magazine for a potential sale.
Episode 10: Ice Canyon
Gracey travels to Banff, Alberta for the MEC Ice Climbing Festival and climbs an ice route in Johnston Canyon with pro ice climber Jenn Olsen. Gracey ropes up with mentor photographer Tracy Elliott to shoot from a vertical ice fall and then pitch her photos to Gripped Magazine.
Episode 11: Slopestyle
Stakes are high for Gracey with a looming photo pitch to Freeskier Magazine and a photo submission featuring young rising star freeskier Dylan Marineau. Expert advice from adventure photographer Krystle Wright has Gracey changing direction mid shoot to increase her chances of success.
Episode 12: Tipping The Trails
Gracey meets up again with Brett Tippie and goes back to where his freeride mountain bike career all started, Kamloops British Columbia. Gracey recaptures Brett’s magazine cover shots from his early career.
Episode 13: Making An Impact
Canadian National Whitewater Canoe Team athlete, Haley Daniels, is Gracey’s featured athlete for an Impact Magazine photo shoot on the Kananaskis River in Alberta.
