APTN has obtained hundreds of U.S. diplomatic cables originating from the U.S. embassy and consulates across Canada.
Whistleblower website WikiLeaks provided APTN with the never before released cables. WikiLeaks obtained 250,000 U.S. State Department cables from American embassies and consulates world-wide and has partnered with media around the globe to release the information. APTN was one of the media organizations selected to participate.
Some of the information that APTN will disclose from these diplomatic cables may not specifically deal with Aboriginal issues, but given the scope of U.S. influence and impact on this continent and in this era, APTN believes it is in the public interest to share much of the information contained in these cables with our audience.
