This is Attawapiskat: sickness, rotting houses, families in tents, no running water, human waste dumped in ditches

The Attawapiskat First Nation has declared a state of emergency.

And band leaders are pleading for help because several families are living in tents.

Timmins-James Bay MP Charlie Angus has documented the conditions.

Angus spoke to APTN National News about what he saw.

My God people. Pack up your things and leave that God forsaken country and move to Toronto and get on social assistance until you can find work. Thats what most people would do.
