I went to check out an animal shelter because I was thinking about getting a pet. Possibly something small and cuddly, like a kitten or puppy. I just wanted somebody to keep me company, since I was new in town. Once I was there, and saw all the options, I had to go home to think about it. That’s when I found out that Kernel had stowed away in my car. I brought him in for some food and to call the shelter. I found that it was closed for the weekend. From there we started our new living arrangements and things started getting a little “hairy” – pun intended…I have been experiencing loud noises in the middle of the night, strange smells from “experiments”, and my land lady threatening to evict me ever since… I mean, I might have expected missing shoes from a dog, but not missing money, laptops and credit cards.
He is company though on these long cold evenings. We watch movies, eat popcorn and pizza and laugh a lot! We laugh so much and so often together and that’s the best part. So I guess in the end I did get what I was looking for. It’s not like I can break this chain now… I’m in it for the long haul!
This week’s movie, Chain Reaction (1996) is just a bit different from my experiences, but that doesn’t mean it’s less stressful! Keanu “Neo” Reeves (according to Kernel) is the star of this one. Kernel is pretty adamant that The Matrix is actually a real-life documentary about him. I couldn’t break his heart to tell him any different.
He plays Eddie, an undergraduate that works as a technician at the U of Chicago. He and his team find an alternative to our usual polluting fuel sources. That’s when the action really begins. There are twists are there are turns and there are many of Keanu’s signature action hero looks into the distance. Award-winning actors Rachel Weisz and Morgan Freeman star alongside Keanu in this thriller.
There have been conspiracies regarding clean energy sources all over the world. With our day and age where we are trying to be “greener,” those types of energy sources would be welcomed with open arms. Wouldn’t you say?
Hope you’ll be watching next Friday when we’ll be watching and check out what Kernel had to say about that one!… You can’t miss that.
Take care,
Chantelle.
