Perspectives On: The Mushuau Innu, at peace on the land

News that not only informs, but inspires.

APTN National News
In the 1960s, the Mushuau Innu, a nomadic group in Labrador, were moved onto an island off the coast called Davis Inlet.

What followed was addiction and suicide.

But 40 years after being locked on Davis Inlet, they moved to Natuashish and found themselves back on the land.

And the smell of spruce boughs, fresh fish and campfires are slowly making it back in their lives.

Here is APTN’s Ossie Michelin with the final story in his series, the Mushuau Innu, at peace on the land.
