First Nations and Inuit Health Branch warns of possible cuts

APTN National News
As the weeks pass following the release of the 2012 federal budget, more and more government programs are being cut or ended entirely, and Aboriginal health is being hit hard.

APTN National News reporter Nigel Newlove has the latest on the First Nations and Inuit Health branch of Health Canada, which has issued letters to communities warning of possible changes to contribution agreements.

Any cuts to the First Nations and Inuit Health Branch would follow the closure of the First Nations Statistical Institute and the National Aboriginal Health Organization, both of which did millions of dollars’ worth of work on indigenous health in Canada.
