Before I get started on my weekly Friday Night Flick blog, I would like to take a moment to thank you for tuning in and for visiting the site!
We’re always looking for ways to interact with you so, let us know what you think of our posts/show, how we can improve and/or what you like about it. We’d love to hear your feedback.
If you had a chance to watch last week’s Charlie’s Angels movie, you probably caught Kernel with his… questionable attire. I’m pretty sure he wants to know what you thought about his “look”. Actually, I know he does. He was definitely trying to one-up me that day.
Kernel is pretty good at one-upping me though. Mostly because he has no shame and if he does, it doesn’t show.
Our story this week is a primal game of macho-ism… you know, which guy can do better than the other guy? Then that takes a pretty dramatic turn for the crazies. In Pushing Tin (1999) our main guy Nick, aka John Cusack, finds himself a bit intimidated by the new guy’s expertise in air traffic control. The latest addition to their seemingly tight knit crew is Russell played by Billy Bob Thornton. I don’t blame Nick, because Russell is a pretty intense dude. Behind an intense guy is usually a pretty intense girl. Angelina Jolie, who back then was involved with Billy Bob and did some intense things in real life, plays his wife Mary in the movie.
Well, I don’t want to ruin anything for you. I hope you enjoy it!
