APTN Wins Take Our Kids to Work™ National Award for a Third Year in a Row

November 20, 2015, Winnipeg, Manitoba – Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN) is pleased to announce it is one of 15 companies across Canada recognized by The Learning Partnership for its involvement in the Take Our Kids to Work™ initiative. For a third consecutive year, the network received the Canada’s Outstanding Employers Award as a symbol of its commitment to the youth.

Each year, 75,000 organizations and 250,000 students take part in Take Our Kids to Work™, a program that encourages parents to bring their grade 9 children to work for a day. It also aims to recognize employers who make exemplary commitments to students – Canada’s future workforce. The initiative was launched in 1994 by The Learning Partnership, a national charitable organization that champions a strong public education system.

On the first Wednesday of every November, students are invited to learn the benefits of early career exploration and the importance of staying in school and pursuing post-secondary studies. The companies who are most successful at sharing these values, through engaging and creative activities, are celebrated through the Canada’s Outstanding Employer Awards.

Earlier this month, APTN was also named one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers for the fourth consecutive year. This national competition acknowledges employers who lead their industries in offering exceptional workplaces for their employees.
